About the Local History Room

History of the Local History Collection
Our local history collection was formally established in 1973 as part of the new Fullerton Public Library located on Commonwealth Avenue. The Albert Launer Memorial History Room opened as a tribute to Lulu Launer’s late husband Albert and his many years of community service. The collection has since continued to grow, largely through contributions from the public. The current collection is housed in a new, state-of-the-art, climate controlled facility, which was built as part of the 2011 Fullerton Library Renovation Project.
