While I was reading this book I was thinking how it would be to if I was one of the characters in the book. There are four main characters, four best friends that have never been away from each other for the summer, Carmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lena. The book goes through each individual’s summer and how they face problems and overcome them. Carmen goes to her dad’s place in South Carolina, Lena goes to Greece, Tibby is stuck by herself in Maryland, and Bridget, the sporty one of the group, goes to a soccer camp in Mexico. Even though all of them are separated by a great distance they are still together–what I mean by that statement is that they have these pants that they just randomly tried on and luckily the pants fit every one of them. Carmen was really surprised but she is the chubby and those pants fit her as well as Lena who is very lean and thin. When each girl wears the Traveling Pants, she gains insight into her life and is encouraged to change it. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great read for everyone.
