Main Library

Main LibraryThe Main Library was opened in June, 1973. The architects of the original design were Hans Stanley Kohlenberg and William Blurock & Partners. Significant changes to the structure occurred in 1999 when an expansion of the Children's Library as well as the main entrance were constructed according to designs by Kroh/Broeske Architects of Riverside. The square footage was increased from 50,000 to 56,000 square feet.

Free parking is available in lots adjacent to the library accessed from either Short Street or Amerige Avenue. Spaces are reserved for handicapped parking in these lots.

Programs for children and adults take place at the library on an almost daily basis. See calendar of events.

Storytime programs for preschoolers and an after-school club for school-age children are all part of the regular, weekly children's programming. The library offers a summer reading club for independent readers, and Family Night programs during the school year. For dates, times, and registration information please consult the library calendar or call: (714) 738-6326.

The Main Branch maintains over thirty public workstations as well as wireless connectivity. Computers for access to the Internet and productivity software, such as word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and presentations (MS PowerPoint) are available.
