Hunt Branch

The Hunt Branch was a gift to the City of Fullerton from the Hunt Foods & Industries Foundation, headed by Norton Simon. It was dedicated on September 12, 1962. The building’s architect was the world famous William L. Pereira. Mr. Pereira also designed the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, the Geisel Library at UC San Diego, the Disneyland Hotel, and the master plan for the City of Irvine.

The Hunt Branch Library is located in a park setting in southwest Fullerton. It is on Basque Avenue, which is off of Valencia Drive between Euclid and Brookhurst.

Free parking is available in two lots adjacent to the building. These lots are accessed by turning north on Basque Avenue off of Valencia. Three spaces are reserved for handicapped parking in these lots, located on the east side of the building. Additional free parking is available in a lot south of the library. This lot may be reached by turning north on Pacific Drive off of Valencia. A footbridge over the barranca provides access from Pacific Drive Park to the Hunt Library site.

The Hunt Branch has rooms to rent for groups as small as 12 or as large as 90. The two larger rooms have adjacent patios. A kitchen with refrigerator and microwave is readily accessible. For conferences, parties, community members can look to Hunt Branch where both rooms and grounds can be rented.

Storytime programs for preschoolers and an after-school club for school-age children are all part of the regular, weekly children's programming. The library offers a summer reading club for independent readers, and Family Night programs during the school year. The Branch maintains public workstations as well as wireless laptop computers for access to the Internet and productivity software such as word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and presentations (MS PowerPoint).
