1912

Story tent constructed for preschoolers in the new Children's Library that was added to the Carnegie Library.



1927

Mary Campbell shares a story with her young patrons.



1951
Author and illustrator Leo Politi was an after school guest. He painted a picture on newsprint that can be seen in the Children's Room today.



1953
Mary Sim is checking out books in the Children's Library. She wrote the children's history of Fullerton, Ostrich Eggs for Breakfast; a History of Fullerton for Boys and Girls, in 1972.


1956
Leo Politi painted the picture displayed by librarian Helen Bruickshank. This painting hangs in the present Children's room.



1957
Fullerton was the first city in Orange County to offer bookmobile service.



1962
Hope Fisher, 7 years old, was the first person to enter the new Hunt Branch Library.


1962

Boys and girls attend the ground breaking for the new Fullerton Library.



1973
Children have enjoyed books at the Hunt Branch since 1962.


1982
Librarian Kathy Dasney with a well attended summer storytime. Fullerton's first storytiime in 1925 was attended by 3 boys and 9 girls.



1995
Book character Clifford, the big red dog, greets school children inside the newest public bookmobile.



2005
Teen volunteers have always been a great asset to children's programs. In 1952 they offer children punch in glass cups served on silver trays! In the summer of 2005 over 200 teen volunteers provided more than 3,000 hours of service to Storytime and Afternoon Live programs.
